why did they show that cute young long-haired waiter being fired at the beginning (even though he was one of the few people on staff who actually seemed to WORK instead of goof off), but then they showed him working for the whole rest of the episode? seemed to me that both of the people the owner fired seemed more serious about their jobs than any of the others

@ daria
He wasn’t fired, just sent home for the night. I think he was picked because he wasn’t quite in the tight knit clique.

Wasn’t this the one in which they likened it to a high school slumber party or such. Total bedlam in the kitchen. As I recall they simply had too many wait staff for the diners at first and one was sent home for that evening.
In an organization I worked for when you were promoted to first line supervisor you were sent to a one-week school on being such. Two lessons learned there. 1. Don’t take on your employee’s problems as your won. 2. You are now their supervisor, not their buddy or such. You need to maintain a certain degree of aloofness or you will fail as a supervisor.
They were failing enough before his visit to ask for help, and are still apparently open. So perhaps something he did helped.

The long haired waiter wasn’t being fired you freaking idiot. He was being asked to go home for the night- as was the brunette waitress- to save some money on the evening’s overhead. Pay attention you ass.

The owner surely wasn’t about to send home the flirts. He sent home the guy and the quiet young woman. I felt bad for the guy’s poor wife, putting up with him still trying to act “high school” and losing all their money.

I thought the owner was flirting with his female staff too! The owner was too busy worrying about being popular rather than making a profit.

Rob,
Right you are.
“Jamie” is full of shit. My wife and I went to Campania this past February. We live about 30 minutes away.
The food was fantastic, but came out of the kitchen VERY slowly. I was about to leave when it arrived. But it was worth the wait, fortunately.
Living in NJ, I don’t like to pay too much for Italian food, because there are TONS of Italian places in NJ. Campania is pricey, but the food was good enough to satisfy me that it was a good value for the money.
Just don’t walk in very hungry, because you will pass out starving.

I think Sixgun is right.I also think that Ramsay (or the producers) sent those two people home because adequate staffing makes for smoother service. So when the sh** hit the fan, the TV show could be more entertaining.

This review was published in July, so I doubt it was closed down in June.
