I want to know what happened to Peter (the guy) “overnight”, that he came back behaving in a rational manner. Did anyone else pick up hints that this guy might be a user of steroids?

Pete is a vile little toerag and the worst cartoon example of a wanna be mobster. This guy is down right vile. He seemed like he was on more than steriods.
Have a coke anyone?

I find it interesting, according to one review site, that this restaurant does not accept credit cards. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant that does not accept credit cards; however, I have run a major shopping center, and I know that businesses that are in trouble are frequently cash-only.

It’s closed. Peter’s going to have to find other ways to support his coke habit.

“I want to know what happened to Peter (the guy) “overnight”, that he came back behaving in a rational manner.”
Please remember this is a reality show. The formula for all these types of shows is: Conflict, near disaster, growth, resolution.
Now I am not saying that the produces (I would call them directors but on reality shows there is suposed to be no directing), who stand directly off camera and who you never see, are out right telling the paricipants to lie, but they are strongly encouraged to let the extremes of thier nature show. If you are mad, be really mad, if you are sorry, be really sorry.
“Oh now would be a perfect time to confront Chef Ramsey and here are a few things you could say. Cut, that was good but lets do it again and can you be a little angrier this time.”
Its TV folks. There is no reality to it.

I think Peter would have made a great actor on The Sopranos. A restaurant owner he wasn’t.

I think Gordon was correct in the program in saying Peter (Jr.?) was the biggest problem they had. Perhaps his parents and sister should have obtain a restraining order he cannot come within 100 yards of the restaurant. If they had, they might still be open.
Take for example his going into the kitchen, sees a plate of scallops on the serving area, picks it up and starts eating it. Table servings are trimed to be time to served out all at once. Peter completely disrupted the serving of that table. Do you serve out all but the scallops order, or send the other dishes to other tables or simply start over for that table.
Seems like he viewed the restaurant as his own personal little serfdom. Give me this, give me that. Hey, how are you.

The reason the business did not accept credit cards is that it’s probably associated with the Mob; take a look a the dad. They never do anything on the books; remember the movie ‘Casino’ - “No records Artie. What you gonna do? Pay taxes?”
I was a WASP who made the mistake of working for several food businesses in Vineland, NJ (one of the Italian/Mafia capitals of NJ) and the Mafia-connected restaurants REFUSED to accept credit cards and they would never give a reason… Fuggedaboutit!

I’ve been to quite a few high end places in foreign countries that not only do not accept credit card but also do not accept checks. I always wonder if it is because they are not reporting it all to the tax man or if they just don’t like the thought of Mr. Visa and Mrs. Mastercard skimming 3% off the top.
